These third parties are called Notified Bodies and they are appointed by national government authorities in each European member state. NEW EMC Directive On the 20th July 2007 the European EMC Directive (89/336/EEC) changed and all pre-existing legislation was replaced. The changes within the NEW EMC Directive (2004/108/EC) will affect the way manufacturers manage and maintain European EMC Compliance for both new and existing products.
